Application & Selection
Applicants are selected based on their CV, a motivation letter, and academic transcripts. We strive to create a diverse environment by considering gender and geographical balance.
Travel costs, accomodation, and food
We offer financial support for travel and accommodation depending on your location:
- Students from within Europe (excluding Germany):
Travel costs to/from Hannover will be reimbursed based on receipts, up to a maximum of 375 EUR. Please choose climate-friendly travel options (e.g., train or long-distance bus) whenever possible. - Students from outside Europe:
Please contact us in advance. We aim to support you with a travel grant where possible and will assess this on a case-by-case basis. - Students from Germany:
- Students from Germany beyond regional train distance (travel times > 5 hours):
Travel costs will be reimbursed based on 2nd class Deutsche Bahn fares. Please keep all receipts. Accommodation will be provided. - Students within regional train distance (~4 hours) and with applicable student ticket:
Travel costs will not be reimbursed, but accommodation will be provided. - Students from the Hannover region (~1 hour travel time):
No travel or accommodation support is provided. We expect local students to commute.
- Students from Germany beyond regional train distance (travel times > 5 hours):
